My name is Michael Jones, our family has been farming since 1878! My wife, Jodi and I are co-owners of Rocky Forge Farm. We are a family owned and operated local business focusing on producing high-quality American Wagyu beef

Our Story

Nestled in the picturesque Piedmont region, Rocky Forge Farm stands as a testament to heritage, regeneration, and the pursuit of exceptional beef. Michael Jones, the fifth-generation steward of this family land, has revitalized the farm since taking up the mantle of farming in 2018. Today, it proudly holds the distinction of being the only American Wagyu farm in the Piedmont.

The transformative journey of Rocky Forge Farm began in 2017 when my wife, Jodi and I celebrated a special occasion with our first taste of a Wagyu ribeye. That single culinary experience ignited a passion within us to regenerate our ancestral farmland and cultivate our own American Wagyu stock. With unwavering determination, we invested in a 100% Wagyu bull and a herd of Angus heifers, laying the foundation for our unique and exceptional beef enterprise.

As you step foot onto Rocky Forge Farm, you will be greeted by the lush, verdant pastures that characterize this picturesque landscape.  Our family’s commitment to the health and well-being of our animals is evident in the pristine condition of the pastures. We understand that the key to raising healthy cows lies in the quality of the forage they consume. The soil quality and the superior plant quality of the grass contribute to the overall health and vitality of the animals.
